It's a little Church-y

This past Saturday I had a most amazing experience. I know that our Heavenly Father knows each of us individually. He knows us like our fathers know us. But unlike dads that are several hundred miles away and are only updated through facebook statuses, blog updates, and phone calls, our Heavenly Father knows every detail at that exact moment. He knows what we need. He knows exactly when we need that confirmation that He is there. Even when we aren't asking for help or to know that He is there listening He reminds us that He will always be there if we want Him there or not. By small and simple things he reminds us we are never alone. At times where we feel we need Him more than anything and don't feel as if He is there, He is. Like a father He wants to help, solve the problem, take the pain away, but what would we learn? nothing, so He steps back and is there to comfort and at random times He gives us a little push or has someone step in, or we hit every green light in traffic. Some may say you're lucky, and it might be a little bit of luck or timing with the lights, but He knows that maybe hitting all green lights or having a friend, who you haven't seen in a while call you out of the blue might brighten your day. Its the little things like this that remind us that He is there, just like our earthly dad is there to remind us that 'its just money' when we fail a class or that he remembers a random tickle spot and tells your friends. Michael McLean has a song 'You're Not Alone' all the youtube videos I've found are pretty lame so here are just a few of the lyrics.

YOU’RE NOT ALONE,

YOU ARE LOVED IN WAYS THAT CAN’T BE SHOWN, YOUR NEEDS ARE KNOWN

AND WHEN YOU CRY YOU’RE JUST LETTING GO A HEARTACHE DEEP INSIDE

SO TOMORROW THERE’LL BE SUNSHINE AND SKY AND LOVE CLOSE BY

WELL I KNOW THAT IT’S NOT EASY, BUT I KNOW THAT IT WON’T LAST

CAUSE ONE WHO LOVES YOU MORE THAN ME

IS SENDING BLESSINGS FAST

YOU’RE NOT ALONE…SAY IT ONE MORE TIME, "I'M NOT ALONE"

DISCLAIMER - I am happy, not sad or depressed, this is supposed to be uplifting!

Crafting lately

Kelly's birthday at Olive Garden, theme 80's- crafted costume.

Mardi Gras wreath- mostly from Hobby Lobby. Went with Charles and even though I was hiding my face from embarrassment of Charles goofing off, it was the best time I've ever had at Hobby Lobby.

This was a project I wanted to finish before Christmas, but I just finished it a week ago. I love the painting of Jesus in a manger. I think sometimes we don't really think of him as a baby, and Mary looking down at a 7lb give or take newborn knowing that something so small and helpless will be the Savior of the World. I came across this list of all of the names used for Jesus Christ, pick my favorites and made my own. The paper and mounting square thing was found at Roberts. Frame from Target (thanks Manda) and holder at Hobby Lobby.

Jumping the Curb

In no way am I as great of a story teller as Manda, but i'll try.
Last Thursday I was going to a friends house to then go to a movie and I was driving at night, there were NO street lights and it was in a town I wasn't to familiar with. He gave me directions over the phone and sometimes I can be like a guy and be stubborn about asking for directions. So I noticed I had gone to far and so I made a u-turn. While making said u-turn I was also trying to hold onto my phone. And as I'm turning I fell a BUMP and then hear metal on concrete scratching. I slam on the brakes hop out and discover that my car is straddling the curb. Now these are not your everyday curbs. I guess you could say its folklore but these curbs were 12" tall. Don't let the picture fool you. As I JUMPED out of my car I saw that the front tire had jumped back up onto the curb. I called the guy I was meeting and told him I had a girl moment and jumped the curb outside his street. He came and found me, we went back to his house grabbed his jack and headed back. He then returned my car to the right side of the curb, only resulting in sore arms for 2 days! I don't know how many times I said sorry, but what can you say? Everyday I try and prove that I'm not some silly girl, being in construction its a must when you still insist on wearing pink and heels sometimes. and this truly took away and man point i had made. Not only is my car hurt but so is my pride. The shop that I took my car to said that I had damaged/broken the radiator, oil pan, 2 tires, 2 wheels, R front strut, the R front lower control arm, and a rim. YIKES. Thankfully Daddy Warbucks was able to help! Looks like I'm getting tires and stuff for Christmas!
